A Nobelhart recommendation: Reigen Sake from Wedding

Something remarkable has been brewing in the old bowling alley beneath Julius – literally.
For some time now, our friend and seasoned vinyl peddler, Sebastian Mrohs, along with Katharina Koitz, Jun Sato, and Francesco Todescato, has been crafting a Berlin-born sake that you won’t want to miss.
Reigen Sake isn’t some lame copy of its Japanese counterpart. No, this is a distinctly European creation – made with Carnaroli rice from Francesco’s family in Veneto, fermented in Berlin’s Wedding district, and bottled in Riesling bottles. It’s unorthodox, it’s funky, and it’s damn good. Sake purists and natural wine fanatics alike will find plenty to love.
Curious? Order a bottle straight from Reigen’s brand-new online shop.
There, fresh batches await – like the Caìgo Sake, a cloudy, sparkling Nigori-style sake blending pressed and unpressed elements. Or the Tand Sake, oxidised in an open tank for deep caramel and sherry notes. Craving something wilder? The Seyd Sake leans into pet-nat territory, bringing bold, cheese-like flavors (and yes, it works).
Reigen Sake is also available at Rutz, Barra and Etz in Nuremberg.
Stay thirsty!
