Art at the Aufbau-Haus: Claudia Comte in collaboration with König Galerie

You know us a little by now and you know that when you visit us, we like to present you not only with culinary handiwork, but also with some fine art – especially if it connects us thematically.

In the case of Claudia Comte (*1983), these are the topics of climate change, ecology, the use of resources and global environmental pollution. She also investigates the extent to which organic materials function as carriers of memory and traditional crafts. As you can see, the intersections are obvious.

Therefore, we are especially pleased to be able to present some works from Claudia Comte’s “Marble Cans” series at Aufbau Haus in cooperation with König Galerie. The starting point for the sculptures are aluminum cans of various origins, which are stamped by the artist, scanned, reproduced in triplicate in Carrara marble and then finished by hand. Claudia Comte studied Visual Arts at the Haute Ecole Pédagogique, in Lausanne, Switzerland and was awarded three major awards of the Swiss art scene, Swiss Art Award (2014), the Prix 2018 of the Fondation Irène Reymond and the Kulturförderpreis 2018 of the Alexander Clavel Foundation, Riehen, Switzerland.
