Exhibition opening – “Erdhof” by Pujan Shakupa and Stefan Stark May 13, 3 – 5 p.m. at Nobelhart & Schmutzig
The juicy pork schnitzel served on our beautiful KPM plates on Fettschnitzel Wednesday was once a pig. Yes, that much might be obvious, but it’s also something that restaurants rather prefer to keep shtum about – after all, alienation is absolutely part of the food industry’s business model. Our schnitzel, however, was not just any old pig from any old farm, but hails from city-weary Berliners’ prime place of longing: the Erdhof Seewalde.
Artists Stefan Stark and Pujan Shakupa spent an entire year filming life on the Erdhof. The brand new exhibition in our windows and bathroom is based on their feature-length documentary and invites viewers into the world of this special place. And no, it does not omit anything. Aside from scenes of children playing, grazing cows and ample fields, it also depicts the slaughter of a pig – one that we may or may not have served at the restaurant.
We would love for you to join us on occasion of the official opening on May 13, between 3 and 5 p.m. along with the artists, the farmers from the Erdhof, a couple of glasses of something bubbly and a tiny something to eat.
Find out more about the exhibition here.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
