New in our window: art by Malte Zenses

In the spring of 2021, the exhibition in our shop window will be dedicated to the artist Malte Zenses, who was born in Solingen and lives in Berlin. His paintings depart from personal memories and fragments of experience, translated into abstract codes through his own multilayered system, integrating semiotic, subcultural and graphic references. In doing so, Malte does not limit himself to any medium: neither in his material – besides painting, Malte also makes sculptures and drawings – nor in his frame of reference, which always moves between the analog and digital worlds, between personal and general concerns. Malte consciously challenges the viewer to let his own experiences and associations flow into the reflection on his work. Malte studied at the HfG Offenbach with Wolfgang Luy and Susanne Winterling and at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Andreas Schulze. In 2017 he received the Marianne Defet Painting Scholarship in Nuremberg.
